BEHIND THE SCENE
I’ve always loved playing cards and games, and out of curiosity, I began studying the captivating imagery on Tarot and Oracle cards, delving into their symbolism.
For years, I’ve been fascinated by the language of the subconscious, which led me to explore its symbolism. I started with the basics and later became intrigued by archetypes. This interest drove me to read the works of Carl Gustav Jung and Marie-Louise Von Franz, who also explored the connection between fairy tales and the psyche.
In late 2019, my first children’s book was published—a product of my early exploration of myths, legends, and the symbols associated with them: Les Livre des Animaux Magiques (Editions du Ricochet). Alongside this, I also incorporated aesthetic and anthropological research into my work, culminating in the Tarot de Marseille deck.
Some time ago, feeling the need to visually define my psychological journey, I focused on the Major Arcana card, Strength (11). This image—almost a mandala representing my circumstances at that moment—prompted me to reflect on the profound importance of delving deeper into the Major Arcana. I decided to begin by redesigning the Tarot de Marseille cards to better understand their symbolism.
The year 2020 provided me with the time to return to painting. While continuing my studies, reading, and work, I reimagined and re-illustrated the 22 Major Arcana.
